I'm gearing up to Shop 'til I Drop at the Ganz Sale this Tuesday!
I'm going to the early bird sale day and really hope I won't have to wait in a lineup - I don't "do" lineups.
I'll be going with a friend and will likely overspend on multitudes of silly nicknacks and items that, at the time, I feel I can't live without.
I'll then go home happy and anxious to take everything out of the bag(s) and stare at all of it. Then, I'll decide what items will become stocking stuffers for family and friends, which will actually equate to only 5% of what I frivolously purchased. The remaining 95% will be for ME!! And it will quickly sink in that I don't need even HALF of this stuff, but just bought it because it was there and it was inexpensive and cute/decorative and let's face it, I simply got caught up in the spirit of (Christmas) shopping.
Once I rationalize that I've purchased far too much crap, I'll put the stuff that's for ME under the spare room bed and forget about it for a week or so, disgusted with myself.
After that week or so passes, I'll forget how I felt initially about the whole sordid experience and head right back over to the sale again for a ton of stuff I discovered that I need more of or forgot to get. I always need more candles...
Oh, and then my sisters, other friend and neighbour will receive phone calls from me over the next month and a half, saying "Hey! The Ganz Sale is on. Wanna go?" - jm
